Apex Global

Apex is originally Australian, but it has successfully spread through out the Asia Pacific region. National Apex bodies in many countries have supported initiatives for positive policy and international relations reasons. Apex is committed to promoting good citizenship across our region and between neighbours.

International Apex activities include:

Meet our 2021-22 international Apex Ambassadors

Our Apex Australia Ambassadors were appointed to their positions in recognition of their outstanding leadership and commitment to maintaining and strengthening international understanding and friendship. During these challenging times presented by Covid-19, it is more important than ever to promote the links between our Apex countries, and to remember that we are part of a global community united in our desire to grow, learn and make friends while helping others. Our Apex Australia Ambassadors are asked to strengthen the relationship between their home countries and Australia and promote Apex Australia whenever possible.

  CS Naidu,  Kuala Lumphur Club

Lifer Samasinaidu Chelliah known as CS Naidu started his own printing business after his secondary education. He is very committed and service-orientated person. Before joining Apex, he was travelling to India with Apex members of Apex KL and enjoyed the SERVICE, FELLOWSHIP AND CITIZENSHIP during his trip. Subsequently, he was interested to know more about Apex and attend Dinner Meetings, service and fund-raising events upon invitation from Apex KL member. He was introduced to Apex fraternity by Apexian K.A. Appana and was inducted as member of Apex Club of Kuala Lumpur on 5 September 1997. Then he aggressively involved himself in Apex and brought new ideas for service projects. CS Naidu has promoted “international understanding and friendship” through his attendance at International Conventions by travelling to all the seven nation of Apex fraternity: Australia, Bangladesh, Fiji, India, Philippines, Sri Lanka and Singapore together with Lifer Willy Oates and late Apexian Dr. Arokianathan. He and his family upheld these ideals and values by hosting many Apexians locally and from overseas. CS is very well-known in Apex circles and also other organisations ie. Round Table of India and has develop ongoing friendships with Apexians and other organisations. He has attended many international conventions and Atsumari Meetings. CS Naidu was nominated and elected as Club President for 3 terms (2003/04, 2012/13 and 2013/14) and held all Club executive positions during his 23 year career in Apex. He has also guided other members into Club executive positions by providing advice on meeting procedure club finances and the importance of accurate record keeping.

 

  Sri Shanmugalingam,  Columbo Club, Sri Lanka

He joined Apex in 1972 as a prospexian to serve the under privileged, and became a member of the Colombo Club in 1973. Since then the following positions have been held; 1975-77 Editor 1976 - 77 Sergeant at Arms 1978-79 Club Treasures 1980 Club Secretary 1981 I.R.O. & Club Vice President 1982 Club President as well as becoming a member of the National Board 1983 seen disaster strike in Sri Lanka with riots, which lost some members in the riots and many left the Country. Membership of 200 came down to just 5 members. 1984 Membership and attendance at the National Board level 1985 Sri Lanka in Australia under the exchange programme 1986 headed a team to India for the Atsumari (Asia Pacific Regional Conference) 1987 National IRO 1988 National Vice President & continued as the National IRO 1989 National President of Sri Lanka & attended WOCO in Qubec City in Canada 1990 continued as the N.P. 1991 to 1995 active member in the club & association. Sri has been an Apexian for the last 47 years and we are pleased to have him as an Apex Ambassador.

 

  Ramon Teruel,  Apex Club of Iloilo City, Philippines

Positions held in Apex: Past Apex Global Chairman (2019-2020), Past Apex Global Vice Chairman (2018-2019), Past National Bursary Officer (2012-2018), Past National President, Philippines (2011-2012), Club Bursary Director (2009-2012), District 1 Governor (2002-2003), Club President (2000-2001). He has been an Apexian for 23 years. Joined Apex to give back to the community and live by the ideals of Apex. Most memorable experience in Apex was being the National Bursary Officer for 6 years and attending different Apex National Conventions outside of Philippines where he met and gained new friends and understanding of different cultures.

 

 Jagdish Bali, Nasouri Club, Fiji

He has served in Apex for 40 good years. Joined Apex to be involved helping the poor and needy to organise an Apex Festival and getting a crowd of over 12,000 people together.

My most memorable experience in Apex is raising funds over the last 40 years that today are being using for the Children’s Bursary.

 

 LG Gurmeet Chawla, Hanumangarh Club, India

He joined Apex club Hanumangarh in 1988 as a member Became Secretary in 1993 & President in 1995, District Governor of District 5 in 1997 and National President in 2002 Brand Ambassador of Apex Bangladesh in 2019 and now a Life Governor of Apex India. Joined Apex to serve humanity and foster friendship and this has resulted in having so many friends in Apex Australia, Apex Singapore, Apex Malaysia, Apex sri Lanka and Apex Bangladesh.

 

 Arman Chowdhury, Bandarban Club, Bangladesh

He joined the Apex club of Bandarban in 2005 to work for the betterment of the less fortunate of society, as he wanted to help people in society. Arman lives in a hilly district called Bandarban. He was elected District Governor in 2015 and this has been the most memorable event of his life. Arman is also a life member of the Apex Bangladesh Foundation and Bangladesh Red Crescent Society. In 2013 he was awarded Best Club Secretary of Apex Bangladesh, and in 2014 he was awarded Best Club President of Apex Bangladesh.

 

 

APEX OVERSEAS BURSARY SCHEME

The Overseas Bursary Scheme is an initiative of Apex Australia. It originated 42 years ago by Australian sponsors assisting Filipino scholars to complete high school and University.

Australian founders fund now open for applications

The Founders Fund has been created by Apex Australia to encourage interaction between Apexians from all over the globe. 

Purpose: To assist a current member of any Apex Association, whilst visiting Australia, to attend National Apex Conventions, major events or training to learn and promote our Fourth Ideal.

How it Works: An applicant wishing to visit Australia for the purpose of attending the National Convention, AGM or training, may apply for assistance from Apex Australia. Apex Australia will assist any successful applicant whilst in Australia - excluding all travel costs. Apex Australia will cover any registration cost and either home host or cover the accommodation cost for the event duration.
No airfares are covered, but where possible we will arrange shared travel if fellow Apexians are driving.  The applicant will be responsible for the cost of their travel to Australia and all airfares within Australia.
In the event that the applicant wishes to stay in Australia before or after the event, Apex Australia will assist in the applicant being hosted by one or two clubs, for the purpose of further experiencing culture, fellowship and sightseeing.

Who is eligible to Apply: Any Current Association Member who is wishing to visit Australia for the purpose of learning and improving the association as per the Ideals.
The applicant should have a reasonable level of comprehension of English to ensure the maximum benefit from learning and passing the knowledge on in their own country.

How to Apply: The online application form must be completed here. The application must include a letter of Endorsement from their country’s current National Board. Application is to be made a minimum of three months before the intended event.  Not all applications will be approved.
