After a fire in February nearly wiped out a number of homes in Dunsborough, WA, the Apex Club of Busselton sprung into action to help some elderly residents when their insurance companies would not. The houses were saved with the help of fire retardant that was deployed from the air, but after the danger had passed, it was evident that getting the property saving goop off the homes was easier said than done.
The Busselton Apex team spent the best part of a day blasting the houses clean when insurance companies said 'not our problem' . Although we think they may be finding it in their gardens (and kettle) for the next 10 years, the residents and council were grateful for the support.
