On Saturday 23 August, the Moura Apex Club hosted a 4 Ball Ambrose Golf Day, and what a success it was. The event saw 11 teams of four take to the course for 14 holes of golf, complete with plenty of laughs and creative gimmicks along the way.
Teams arrived dressed to impress—or unimpress—and fully embraced the fun atmosphere of the day. Golfers teed off using standard golf balls before being challenged with a selection of “modified” balls designed purely for entertainment. With holes drilled into them and coins melted onto one side, no one quite knew where the ball might end up once it left the club.
From having to sit down to tee off, to putting as though playing a game of pool, laughter echoed across the greens throughout the day. The field included a wide mix of ages and backgrounds, making it a truly inclusive and social event. As the temperature warmed up, the drinks buggy was kept busy, with the Golf Club President serving refreshments alongside Roma Apex President Tyson Campbell and Dunk, ensuring golfers stayed well hydrated.
After completing the 14 holes, participants gathered for a raffle draw, featuring a lucky door prize of a brand-new set of golf clubs. For a bit of extra fun, a winner-takes-all challenge was held for the closest chip to the stubby cooler on the green. The excitement continued with the longest drive competition on the driving range, where some shots looked like they were almost launched into orbit.
The Moura Apex Club put on a fantastic day, enjoyed by both regular golfers and those who attended simply to support Apex. It was a great example of how Apex clubs bring communities together through fun, fellowship, and service.
